The results
When going through my notes about Mr. Caulfield I have concluded that he falls in the troubled and disturbed teens category. I concluded this statement because even though Holden seems to be a rebel and does things that are very bad, there is more to his story. He seems to be just an ordinary kid who needs help because he goes through the path of negativity. Holden is molded to be a tough and cold hearted teen because of his past. With the emotions all hidden inside of him from the pain of being alone and depressed made him drink, smoke, and rebel. Holden is just a troubled teen because he said,"I just feel alone." Holden does all these things to bring attention to himself. When he was talking about the ducks he seemed to connect with them because he wants to move away from the environment that he thinks he doesnt belong in. Holden also mentions that everyone is a "phony" but he is a phony as well.
Holden's past
Notes about Holden's past had concurred to the main root of his depression and isolation towards people. Holden bares the death of his brother Allie which makes his soft heart cold. Holden's siblings has a significant affect to Holden because they seemed to make a positive affect but later disappears in his life. The friends he makes doesnt seem to make him happy and he still feels alone. The ducks that he mentions made him realize that he wants to belong and move away from the environment he is living in because he can not bare the pain of being alone. Also the fact that Holden got kicked out of Pency shows how he had given up and he doesnt care.Holden does all the bad things and built a wall over the kind heart underneath and hid all everything because he wants to be seen as a bigger person, he wants to have everyones attention by doing all these bad things because he wants to belong with everyone.

Positive Relationships
Today's session is about his relationships with family. When I told him todays topic he began to look away with droopy eyes. He didn't want to talk about his family at first but he finally gave in. His three siblings created a big impact to his life and has made him have that soft side.
- D.B: His older brother. Holden looks up to him because he is the oldest. D.B is a writter for Hollywood and lives in the life in L.A. but one thing that upsets Holden is that he doesnt like the fact the D.B is using his wonderful talents for the "phonies".
- Phoebe: His little sister. The young dearest that makes Holden have a soft heart. She brings him happiness by the littlest things. She is his motivation and inspiration to that sweet heart hidden inside of him. She brings him joy.
- Allie: The one who passed away. He made an great impact in Holden's life. When someone stole the baseball mitt from Allie Holden gets very angry and you can tell the sentimental value carried with the mitt. The mitt is the reminder for Holden to be strong for Allie. Allie is also his motivation and inspiration.
Negative relationships
Today's topic was about Holden's negative relationships. When I mention the topics he had two main people in mind.
- Ward Stradlater- "He's my roomate he's handsome and gets all the girls. We are really close friends, close enough to be brothers. But there was that one day where we got into a very serious fight. It seemed like he was following the phony club and I was after that I might lose my only friend that wasnt like everyone. But I concluded that he was a "phony" just like the rest.
- Rob Ackley- "He's just someone who doesnt earn my respect but I only talk to him when I have no one else. He isn't what I call a friend or a person. He has no manners and doesnt seem to care about anything nor what I have to say. He is a moron and another phony."
Emotional evaluations
Emotional Observations:
The session began with a "Goodmorning Holden" and he answered in a firm voice. As he came to sit on the couch I told him today's topic about something that affected his life to make him the person who is now and he began to space out. As I tried to catch his attention he looked at me with a silent pause and grew weary. "My brother Allie. He died from leukemia." I took note that he had faithful love towards Allie. He wrote poems on the baseball mitt given from his brother when he was on the field which showed the sentimental value. He changed his mood as he started talking about a girl he liked named Jane Gallenger. "I couldnt take her off my mind." He explained how she was the only girl who somewhat understood him. He explained the connection that they have with certain things. His expression changed from weary to puppy dog eyes.
He looked outside the window and said,"ducks." I noticed that he doesnt like talking about a subject for a long period of time so I asked him what about ducks. He said, "You know those ducks in that lagoon right near Central Park South ? That little lake ? By any chance, do you happen to know where they go, the ducks, when it gets all frozen over ? I asked why and he said that the ducks move away when their environment is not good for them and he thought about it and realized that the situation was like his. He wants to flee the environment because he doesnt belong and he thinks about changing the environment instead of fleeing. He began to get weary eyed and I took note that he began to get deeper to his emotions.

Holden Caulfield
Age: 16
School: Pencey Prep (Expelled)Hair color: black
Ethnicity: White
OBSERVATIONS/NOTES:
I met with my new patient, Holden Caulfield, today for our intial interview. Preliminary evalution indicates his appearence of clothing to be with no effort. The terrible stench of cigarettes on his clothing had entered the room as he did so I assumed that he was a smoker. As we talked about his life he said that the most people are phonies which concluded the relationships of his social life. Every question I asked had an adventurous and interesting story that made the many lies seep through his teeth. The red hat that he wore was completely filty and rugged which showed sentimental value of his hat. Also as I observed his red hat, I could see the many grey hairs peeking out of the holes on his hat. The grey hairs is a sign of stress which made me realize why he smokes and drinks. He didn't show much emotion when we talking I asked how he was and he said "what's it to you" I assumed that he had neutral feelings and seemed to be careless about what people thought about him. So after the observations I began to ask him on his thoughts of why he was here, he said," everyone thinks I need help." I looked to over after I took notes and I noticed the expression of anger and so I ask, "what makes you mad, sad or frustrated?" He replied as he clenched his fist," There's a word I really hate. It's a phony." I asked him what he meant as a phony and he answered,"Everyone. Everyone is a phony." He attitude changed as we talked about the "phonies" and so I told him that we would continue this tomorrow.
